Why Harri's

Why Cape Town keeps coming back

  • A near-perfect record

415 of 417 Booksy reviews are five stars, and Google sits at 5.0 from 136 reviews. We work hard to keep it that way.

  • The cut you actually asked for

We talk it through before we pick up the clippers. Clients say James "seriously considers what works for you" and that Sergio "really understood the look I wanted".

  • No waiting around

We're appointments only, so your chair is ready on your slot. Pick your barber and time on Booksy, day or night.

  • A shop with real character

Leather couches, a barber pole and exposed brick: this is a retro barbershop, not a chain. Clients love the "antique, old-school feel" and "brutal vintage furniture".

  • An hour you'll look forward to

"The best and most relaxed atmosphere", "great vibe and music". Come in, sit back and take a proper break from the city.

  • Easy for everyone

We take cards, have Wi-Fi, and welcome kids (toddler cuts from R200) and even your dog.

Beards & hot-towel shaves · from R120

Thirty minutes of old-fashioned calm.

Hot towels, a rich lather and a close, careful shave. Add a beard shape to your cut with the hair & beard combo, or book the shave on its own.

“The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. Great attention to detail.”

Our story

The retro barbershop with a passion for our trade.

Harri's opened in 2020 as a proper old-school barbershop: leather couches, vintage shelves, a barber pole and good music on. We're at 59 Harrington Street, around the corner from the District Six Museum.

The shop is run by James, our owner and senior barber, with Sergio alongside him in the chair. We're appointments only, so when you sit down you get our full attention.
